Yoga Etiquette

PLEASE BE ON TIME AND READY TO GO IN THE STUDIO WHEN CLASS STARTS

We begin promptly and there are no late entries.

WE ASK THAT THERE ARE NO INS AND OUTS DURING CLASSES

If you feel overwhelmed, simply lie down and relax as long as you need to. This is perfectly acceptable and even an important part of a yoga practice- knowing when to back off and not push yourself if your body is resisting too much at that moment. Staying in the class is important for your health and the energy of the group.

If an emergency requires you to leave, please wait in the lobby until the class has finished to retrieve your belongings in order to minimize disruption for your classmates.

PLEASE COME TO CLASS CLEAN AND SCENT-FREE

PLEASE NO SHOES IN THE STUDIO

PLEASE NO TALKING IN THE YOGA ROOM

PLEASE HELP KEEP THE STUDIO A CALMING, RELAXING SPACE

MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR BELONGINGS HOME WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE

THE FRONT ROW LEADS THE CLASS

If you are newer, tend to fidget or lay down frequently during class, or are having a day when you don’t feel like giving 100%, please set up towards the back of the room. This allows new students to have a consistent example of a focused practice to help guide them.

IF YOU HAVE AN INJURY OR UNIQUE PHYSICAL CIRCUMSTANCE, PLEASE LET YOUR TEACHER KNOW BEFORE CLASS

DO YOUR BEST IN EACH POSTURE WITHOUT STRUGGLING OR STRAINING.

LEAVE YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR.

Yoga is not about competition.

WEAR CLOTHES THAT ALLOW YOU TO MOVE FREELY.

ABOVE ALL, ENJOY YOURSELF!
